AI Voice Agent

Answer calls, understand intent, handle or transfer — automatically

The EaseDial AI Voice Agent handles inbound calls end-to-end. It greets the caller, identifies what they need, retrieves relevant information, and either resolves the inquiry or transfers to a human agent with full conversation context.

How It Works

How an AI Voice Agent call works

1

Call arrives

Customer calls the business number. The AI Voice Agent answers immediately — no hold, no menu.

2

Intent detected

The caller speaks naturally. The AI identifies their request — billing question, account change, appointment, and so on.

3

Knowledge retrieved

The AI accesses relevant information — account data, knowledge base, or configured responses — to answer accurately.

4

Issue resolved or transferred

Routine inquiries are resolved without human involvement. Complex requests transfer to the appropriate agent or queue.

5

Context passed on transfer

The human agent receives a summary of what was said, what was retrieved, and why the transfer happened — no re-explaining needed.

FAQs

AI Voice Agent FAQs

What is an AI Voice Agent?

An AI Voice Agent is an automated system that answers inbound phone calls, understands what the caller needs using natural language processing, retrieves relevant information, and either resolves the issue or transfers to a human agent. It is different from a basic IVR because callers speak naturally rather than pressing menu numbers, and the system responds dynamically rather than following a fixed script.

How does the AI Voice Agent decide when to transfer to a human?

The AI Voice Agent transfers when the caller's request is outside its configured capabilities, when the caller explicitly asks for a human, or when defined handoff conditions are met — such as sentiment indicators or account tier. The transfer includes a summary of the conversation so the human agent picks up in context.

Does the AI Voice Agent replace human agents?

No — it handles routine, high-volume inquiries automatically so human agents focus on requests that genuinely need human judgment. The AI handles what it can; everything else goes to an agent with full context about what was already discussed.

What happens if the AI doesn't understand the caller?

When the AI cannot confidently understand or handle a request, it transfers the call to the appropriate queue or agent rather than looping through failed responses. Fallback behavior is configurable.
